Renowned throughout the world for its great and prestigious wines, such as saint-estèphe, margaux, saint-émilion, pomerol or sauternes, the vineyards of Bordeaux  is also, with its 117,200 hectares of vineyards, its more than 8,000 châteaux and its nearly 10,000 winegrowers, the largest AOC vineyard in France!

Consisting of six major terroirs, which are the Médoc, Libournais, Sauternais, the Graves, Entre-Deux-Mers and Blayais-Bourgeais, which are in turn divided into several appellations such as saint-estèphe, saint-julien, margaux, the  moulis-en-médoc or the pauillac for the Médoc region, the Bordeaux vineyard has no less than 57 different appellations!

Red wines represent about 80% of the production and are mainly made from the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes. The rest of the production is made up of dry or sweet white wines, from the Semillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle grape varieties, as well as rosé wines from the same grape varieties as for the red wines.

Many estates open to the public offer tours of their wineries or tastings. This is the case, for example, of Châteaux Siran, Margaux, Lanessan, Mouton Rothschild, Lafite Rothschild and Loudenne in the Médoc, or Châteaux d'Yquem and Filhot in Sauternes. It is also an opportunity for food-loving visitors going from château to château to encounter the landscape and architectural attractions that contribute to the reputation of this vast territory.

    .

Great mountain bike oenosportant ride, the Médocaine brings together every year, at the end of May, thousands of participants in disguise who crisscross the roads of the Médoc in a festive atmosphere.

Blanc de Grand Renouil is a rarity. In 1986, Michel Ponty found this perfect, tiny vineyard that was said to produce white wine centuries ago. That’s when he decided to produce the first white wine in Canon Fronsac, a place where only reds are traditionally allowed.

With less than 3000 bottles produced annually, it can be difficult to get hold of Blanc de Grand Renouil before it is sold out, but it is worth it. In this wine we use a traditional Bordeaux blend (Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon), but the result is very unique: extremely fragrant and round, with a lot of exotic fruits flavors and a great freshness.
