Red wines represent about 80% of the production and are mainly made from the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes. It is also an opportunity for food-loving visitors going from château to château to encounter the landscape and architectural attractions that contribute to the reputation of this vast territory.

The Château TOUR DES TERMES owes its name to an old tower on a plot of land known as "les Termes".

The origin of this tower dates back to the Gallo-Roman era, when remains of boat moorings from that period suggest the presence of an ancient lighthouse on this site, marking the entrance to an outer harbour of the ancient Gallo-Roman town of BRION a few kilometres away.

The name "des Termes" is thought to mean "the end of the land". But Château Tour des Termes is first and foremost the story of an old Médoc family who, little by little, over the generations, built up this estate. As early as 1678, old parchments mention a certain ANNEY, a ploughman in the commune of POTENSAC in the Médoc.

In 1876, his great-grandson became a winegrower in Saint-Estèphe and then from generation to generation the estate grew until 1938 when pierre ANNEY acquired Château Tour des Termes with its old tower as well as a very beautiful tenant farm in Saint Corbian where he settled permanently to produce his cru under the name Tour des Termes.

In 1979, his son Jean and grandson Christophe carried on the family tradition by developing the vineyard and making major investments in buildings and equipment, as well as making great efforts in plot selection. As a result, Château Tour des Termes is now one of the best Crus Bourgeois in the appellation.
