The Blagny la Pièce sous le Bois Premier Cru, just like its neighbour Meursault-Blagny Premier Cru Blanc, is strongly distinguished by its limestone terroir. It is one of the very few appellations in the Côte de Beaune where Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grow happily side by side on the same plot. Dark and intense fruits dominate the spicy notes that follow on the nose. It is full-bodied with rich tannins and surprises the palate with its minerality and energy.

A family business for 6 generations. In 1976 chemistry was replaced by organic products. At the same time the "reasoned" control technique was introduced and since 2000 the entire vineyard has been grown organically.

Average age of the vines: 35 years
Complete destemming.
Natural yeasts.
Cold vatting for 3 to 6 days at 10 °C.
Fermentation for 12 to 18 days.
Pumping-over/Pigeage twice a day depending on the vintage.
15 months maturing on lees in oak barrels of which 20% are new oak.
Racking followed by 3 months of maturing in steel vats
Filtering before bottling.
