"Les Vignes Blanches" thus becomes "Les Tilliers", which is the cadastral name.
Since the 2020 vintage, we no longer have the right to call this cuvée "Les Vignes Blanches" following the classification of Pouilly Fuissé as 1er Cru.
In the past, red vineyards far outnumbered whites in the Maconnais. However, this old parcel has always been planted with Chardonnay, as the soil is better suited to a white grape - hence its name, Vignes Blanches.
Built from a vine to which we give this customary name, the cuvée is completed by other parcels representative of different terroirs in Vergisson. The wine's expression is always balanced with a silky frame and fresh fruit, without any heaviness with a saline finish.
Roger Saumaize, born among the vines, shares his passion with his wife Christine Michelin. Since 2005, a further step in their vineyard management has led them to convert to biodynamic viticulture. Here, great importance is attached to nurturing bacterial life and developing the diversity of flora and microflora, elements that guarantee the constitution of a quality grape.
