Châteauneuf-du-Pape "Matteo" Grenache dominant with a little Syrah bringing its spicy notes. It is very fruity, gooey, a nice freshness and tannins in place. It's a delight that you can keep for several years.... or drink now, which I would understand. Limited quantity.
Bernard Duseigneur, representing the fifth generation at the estate, has teamed up with Philippe Faure-Brac, best sommelier in the world in 1992, to make terroir wines from 30 acres of vines between 50 and 130 years old, grown biodynamically since 2002. This parcel wine, mainly Grenache, was named in memory of Matteo Giovannetti, an Italian painter of the Trecento period who decorated the Popes' Palace in Avignon.
A fine Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with the advantage of being enjoyed young!
Serve: at 17°C.
Wild boar stew, lamb filet with thyme.
