The king of wines

Champagne is certainly the most famous wine in the world.

Today in Champagne, there are more than 50 champagne houses, 22 cooperatives and more than 450 winemakers. The champagne houses have succeeded over the years to distinguish themselves and make their name, a global brand by associating them with elegance, luxury and refinement. This is the case of Dom Pérignon which bears the famous name of the monk who is said to have developed the champagne method.

The appellation area Champagne covers 35,000 ha and is divided into 4 areas: the Montagne de Reims, the Marne Valley, the Côte des Bar and the Côte des Blancs. These 4 areas are essentially located in 2 departments: the Marne and the Aube.

The grape varieties most used in Champagne are pinot meunier, pinot noir and chardonnay.

Rosé Champagne is a blend of red and white wine unlike all other rosés in France.
