Our tips to better enjoy bubbles
Sparkling wine is the name given to all sparkling or effervescent wines. The European regulation on this subject is recent. It was revised in 2008 and 2009. Should we emphasize that the term "sparkling" has a rather pejorative connotation (cheap side, questionable quality!). It is preferred effervescent, sparkling, fine bubbles or better yet crémant or Champagne.
Type of sparkling wines
All sparkling wines must be qualified by a statement corresponding to their sugar content (or dosage) contributed by the expedition liquor:
Brut nature (0 - 3 g per liter)
Extra brut (0 - 6 g per liter)
Brut (0 - 12 g per liter)
Extra Dry (12 - 17 g per liter)
Dry (17 - 32 g per liter)
Semi-dry (32 - 50 g per liter)
Sweet (more than 50 g per liter)
