THE WINE:

This wine comes from 50-year-old vines located in Brochon, between the villages of Fixin and Gevrey-Chambertin, at a place called Queue de Hareng. The soil of this plot (0.5 hectare / ≈ 1.25 acres) is composed of hard limestone pebbles in a silty matrix, giving the grapes a beautiful firm texture.

You will find here a wine with a powerful and firm structure. The fruity expressiveness (characteristic of Pinot Noir) is integrated into smooth, high-quality tannins, and clear minerality persists on the finish.

It is a wine that can be kept for 5 to 10 years, which should be served with hearty food.

Depending on the vintage, we use 50% whole-bunch fermentation, and ageing lasts about 12 months in barrels (with 20% of new barrels) and 6 months in stainless steel tanks.

Serve with grilled beef, roast beef in its juices, or roasted poultry with onion compote.

Family estate for 3 generations directed by Bernard Bouvier . The estate was created in 1910 by the grandfather, Henri Bouvier. René Bouvier, Bernard's father, took it over in 1950, and developed it to reach an operating area of 17 hectares of vines from Marsannay to Gevrey-Chambertin (grands crus, premiers crus, villages and regional appellations). 

The entire range has been certified organic since the 2013 vintage.
The estate has very old vines up to 90 years old.
